For an exclusive stay in Barú, the main question is what your party has to itself and how support works during the visit. A private bedroom is not enough if you want a whole house together. Equally, having your own spaces does not require being left without help: exclusivity and service can work together.

Before booking, separate three agreements: use of the spaces, who will attend and the services you need. You can then establish whether you are reserving a room, several rooms or an entire property, and whether meals and transport are organised. “Exclusive” becomes useful when it is explained specifically.

What exclusive use covers

Ask about the house, beach, dining area, terraces and bedrooms, rather than only sleeping space. With several households, somewhere to gather for meals and the afternoon matters alongside enough rooms. Your party can want its own spaces without doing everything together.

At Casa Gaviota in Punta Piedra, we welcome one group at a time. Both the house and approximately eighty metres of private beach without vendors are exclusively for your party. Bedrooms are not divided between independent reservations during the visit. A couple also reserves the entire property.

Capacity and the attendee list

The house has three bedrooms, three bathrooms and room for up to ten overnight guests. Day events can welcome up to thirty. Send both numbers if some visitors return to Cartagena while others stay: daytime capacity does not increase sleeping places.

List who sleeps, who joins for lunch and who needs a different transfer. Update that list before finalising food and transport if plans change. Exclusivity organises property use; it does not replace a clear account of people and requirements.

For the room layout, read our beachfront accommodation guide. Ask for current beds and discuss any difficulty with stairs, rather than allocating rooms from photographs.

What it means in the surroundings

Exclusive use does not make the whole coast silent. Boats, neighbouring properties and surrounding activity can be audible. If sound particularly affects your rest, explain your needs before choosing dates. Your own party should discuss music and habits too.

What we coordinate with you

Practical support begins before travel: dates, group composition, package, food requirements and arrival route. A request containing those details lets us review the complete visit, particularly when guests come for different lengths of time or from different starting points.

Arrival and return

Around one to one and a half hours is the general Cartagena journey reference. Choose direct boat or road to Barú village followed by the final boat. The last approach is always by water, and the house has a dock. Discuss boarding and movement over sand if anyone needs particular assistance.

Boats do not run after dark. Check-in is 11:00 and checkout 08:00. Confirm the route around those times before committing to a flight or late departure from the city. Our arrival guide explains how to review the connections.

For two or more nights, the Barú village round-trip boat is included. One night in Basic adds COP 300,000 per group; Full incorporates that cost once. Cartagena transport is separately quoted, with private boats starting from COP 800,000 each way depending on group size.

Meals and daily life

Basic provides accommodation and an equipped kitchen. Buy groceries in Cartagena beforehand and add them to the luggage plan. With Full, the cook prepares meals from arrival lunch through departure breakfast. Share children’s ages, allergies and preferences before food is bought and prepared.

Meals cost COP 150,000 per adult per night and COP 100,000 per child aged five to seventeen; under-fives eat free. Two nights cover arrival lunch and dinner, three meals on the middle day and departure breakfast. That is not three full days charged. Our meal guide explains the sequence.

Who is nearby and what support is available?

Manuel looks after the property, lives fifty metres away and is there at night. Daily cleaning covers surfaces and common areas. Staff may be present to provide agreed services; the property remains exclusively for your guest party. Discuss service times if you want to organise meals and rest around a particular plan.

There are a kayak, hammocks and a Soundboks speaker. A papayera band is possible for a celebration, and overnight guests can discuss a beach bonfire. Confirm availability and coordination before making an idea part of the itinerary. Extra arrangements, including any relevant costs, should be agreed with the team.

What to settle before confirming

Comfort should be as clear as exclusivity. All bedrooms have fans without air conditioning. Showers use natural-temperature fresh water without a heater. Every bed has a mosquito net, renewed annually; bring repellent. Land crabs you may hear moving outside at night are harmless.

Starlink with battery backup is available. Mention important meetings or a need to connect at a particular time so you can organise the visit around transfers and other plans. The house allows both beach time and connection without requiring everyone to do the same activity.

Check accommodation for your dates, quoted for the entire property. For a day visit, use its own proposal, starting from COP 1,000,000 per group. The indicative deposit is 50%. A request does not hold dates: our team verifies payment and protects the dates in HostHub before confirming. Defining spaces, people and service beforehand lets you enjoy exclusive use without leaving practical organisation until arrival.

For the organiser, a useful final step is sharing the accepted plan with every household. Include the sleeping list, arrival point and food arrangement, not only the total. Someone who joined through a family invitation should understand the house conditions just as clearly as the person who made the request.
